Meet Edward H. Rensi

For many youngsters, flipping burgers at McDonald's was their first job, and it was Ed Rensi's first job, too. Ed turned that 1st job into a 32-year career.

Ed started his McDonald's career as a grill man earning 85 cents an hour in Columbus , Ohio , then moved from the grill through management holding titles of Senior Vice President Operations and Training, Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer World Wide and, from 1984 to 1998, President and CEO McDonald's USA ; and Ed never forgot his roots.

When he retired in 1998 his business card read, "Shake Maker, Burger Flipper, French Fryer, Cheerleader."

Throughout his career Ed never lost sight of the fact that the success of a 40 billion dollar corporation is driven by satisfying 40 million customers at the front counter, one-at-a-time, every day.

Teamwork

Leadership is one of Ed Rensi's principle topics.

There's a big difference between leadership and management.

And who better to bring this message to your audience than the man who managed along side of the legendary Ray Kroc?

In this segment Ed talks about the vision of McDonald's founder.

Marketing is Ed Rensi's middle name.

While at McDonald's he championed a number of successful marketing initiatives.

On many occasions Ed took a contrarian position to traditional marketing approaches.

In this segment he discusses the founding of the world famous Ronald McDonald halfway house in Philadelphia.

Perserverance is the true success factor that makes all the difference.

Here, Ed shares a story of one of McDonald's most successful franchisees.

A young man with no capital nor business experience.

As Ed points out in this poignant segment, Willie had perserverance.
